ILLUMINANZA

This game was created in 2023 as part of the Production Days at the Zurich University of Arts, in the Game Design department. We were given the task of developing an easily accessible, time-loop exploration game, inspired by the setting of the Milano Fashion Week. Timeframe of the game jam was 2.5 days.

It’s showtime! Fashion designer Extravaganza Bonanza is very excited to present his first ever collection. Inspired by the simplicity of shapes and its endless potential it was his vision to create a clothing collection to honor exactly that. He carefully prepared an incredible stage set to showcase his debut show. The set matches his shape oriented theme and he carefully planned out a different path for every piece of his collection. 

As his light master it is your task to correctly lead every model through the runway, having to pass by all points your boss planned out for each outfit. But fashion shows are hectic and every outfit has a preset time slot and it also just happens to be your first time doing this.

Goal

Aim of the game is to present all 10 outfits. There are 5 models planned for this show. If you guide around a model for too long, the light goes out and the model is lost in the dark. You lose if there are no models left to present the remaining outfits!

The crowd must be pleased for the show to go on. To increase approval, some models must present their outfit to the corresponding designer sections. If this isn’t done, approval goes down. Should it ever go to zero, the show is called off and you lose.

The question remains: will you let your models sit in the DARK or rise them to FAME?!
